Eating Disorders

Athletes and performers are usually highly driven with a strong thirst for success, both in the sporting and performance arena, and other domains of their lives. The culture of many sports, can influence the way someone perceives their body and set expectations for the way an athlete ‘should look.’ Unfortunately these factors place athletes at high risk of slipping into unhealthy eating and exercise patterns.

Katherine has a special interest working with athletes and active people with eating disorders. She knows that athletes come in all different shapes and sizes. She also knows that athletes struggling with body image and eating difficulties can come in all different shapes and sizes.

Katherine believes that recovery is always possible and given the right support, individuals with eating disorders can make peace with food and their body, thereby allowing them to reach their full potential.
